This Children’s Gambling Day Is Probably a Bad Idea
How do you teach kids about probability? Send them to the casino, of course! Not just havens for the elderly, casinos are good places to learn all about odds and how much they can be stacked against you. However, you can also get hooked pretty easily, so it’s probably best to not drop kids with impressionable brains into a casino environment.
But a *school* with a casino? That’s a whole different story — and that’s exactly why this school in Denmark turned the classroom into a betting house. Rather than have kids in seats learning all about why putting all your chips on red is a bad plan, this school put gambling to the test, having kids compete in various chance games to see just how bad their luck might be.
It could be a good teaching tool for most kids — but, if one kid wins big, it could set them on a path toward gambling for the rest of their life. I like those odds!
